The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality put wire netting between the walking tract and the sea on the coast and there was a warning sign written “entrance to this area is dangerous and prohibited”. The wires in front of the benches were there for no reason for several years.
In the meantime, people living around the coast were continuing to sit on those benches rebelliously even though the wires were blocking the view of the sea. As time went on, the people started to make small holes in wire netting and the holes were getting bigger and bigger every passing day. After some time the people who wanted to see the sea by sitting on the benches made way bigger holes in the wire and in the end the sea became totally visible.
